EdVisorly AI Pilot Project
Transforming Transfer in Alabama...it STARTS here!

Background on EdVisorly & Alabama Transfers Partnership
Student Experience and Success with EdVisorly
EdVisorly is an AI-powered platform dedicated to supporting community college students in their journey to successfully transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Our mission is to make transfer pathways transparent, accessible, and achievable for all students, while maximizing their success during their time at community college. We proudly collaborate with innovative and forward-thinking institutions—both two-year and four-year—across the United States.
Pilot Program Timeline and Objectives
Launching in Summer 2024, EdVisorly is partnering with Alabama Transfers to reimagine the transfer experience within Alabama’s higher education system. This initial three-year pilot program will provide selected Alabama community colleges with access to EdVisorly’s platform. The goal is to strengthen both transfer and reverse transfer pathways between Alabama’s community colleges and four-year institutions.
Through close collaboration with Alabama Transfers and participating colleges, we will tailor our platform to meet institutional needs, streamline transfer processes, and help design the future of statewide transfer systems in Alabama.
EdVisorly’s Role in Supporting Transfer
EdVisorly works directly with colleges, universities, and state systems to improve transfer, reverse transfer, and dual enrollment capabilities. As the most robust and trusted AI-based transfer platform, we offer:
-
A modern solution for managing course articulation data
-
A seamless, student-friendly mobile app experience
-
Automated support for transfer planning and reverse transfer processing
This partnership provides Alabama community college students with clearer, more relevant, and more achievable pathways to four-year degrees, empowering them with tools designed for long-term success.
Return on Investment for Partnering Institutions
Thanks to funding from Alabama Transfers, this pilot is being offered at NO COST to Troy University and the participating community colleges. Troy University has recommended including the following institutions in the initial rollout:
Enterprise State Community College
Lurleen B. Wallace Community College
Wallace Community College Dothan
EdVisorly’s platform will automate transcript processing, streamline transfer planning, and empower enrollment teams with cutting-edge tools to enhance dual enrollment, transfer, and reverse transfer operations.

Looking to the Future
The pilot will span several academic cycles, with the goal of refining the system and addressing implementation challenges. After successful testing and feedback, the initiative is expected to expand to all remaining colleges and universities across Alabama over the next five years. Ongoing funding will continue through Alabama Transfers’ annual budget. There is also on-going discussion about allowing the state's private colleges and universities to join by simply paying some type of annual fee.
One Page Summary Sheet

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What does this program look like for community college students, how do they use EdVisorly, and how does it contribute to their success post-transfer?
Students (or the institution) upload transcripts into Alabama Transfers AI-Transfer Platform, powered by EdVisorly. AI generates a personalized transfer plan showing how their credits apply toward a degree at a four-year university. This clarity reduces lost credits, accelerates completion, and improves transfer success. With approval from the community colleges, we can map associate’s degrees and certificates to support a comprehensive end-to-end planning experience through bachelor’s degree completion.
What is the timeline of the pilot program?
The pilot is scheduled to run from Fall 2025 through Summer 2027, with implementation and onboarding beginning this summer (2024).
What are the key things to be accomplished during the pilot program?
The pilot will deliver:
- AI-generated student transfer pathways that are aligned with the current best practices of supporting student success.
- Transcript digitization and automated data entry to allow currently enrolled students and successful transfers to build pathways to and through Wallace College and accomplish transfer as well as reverse transfer.
- One simple and effective cross-institution enrollment dashboards to allow both 2-year and 4-year institutions to track key accountability metrics from the platform to uplift transfer, degree completion, reverse transfer, and metrics required for each institution.
- Streamlined collaboration between community colleges and four-year universities.
How does EdVisorly support dual enrollment for high school students who would attend a two-year institution?
Our platform can process high school transcripts and dual enrollment data to help students and advisors align coursework with long-term degree and transfer goals. In addition to this pilot, EdVisorly is partnering with one of the largest college application platforms in the world to modernize their approach to dual enrollment.
How does EdVisorly support transfer from four-year institutions to two-year institutions?
Students transferring from four-year to two-year institutions can identify, plan, and vizualise their remaining coursework for community college degree and certificate completion as well as 4-year university transfer via a simple and easy to use platform. Students can re-engage with credential pathways and complete their associate degrees and/or certificates.
How does EdVisorly support reverse transfer for students from two-year institutions that transfer to four-year institutions?
We work with universities to identify students who earn enough credits at a four-year institution to retroactively receive an associate degree and facilitate communication between the 4-year institution and the community college for credential completion. The entire reverse transfer process is automated to reduce the workloads on registrars and records office staff.
What is the return on investment of time and effort for the two-year institution?
- The pilot is provided at no cost to public institutions.
- Institutions benefit from access to industry leading AI technology that is powering top higher education institutions nationwide, improved operational efficiency, improved credit mobility and degree completion, increased accountability and reporting for student outcomes, and increased transfer yields.
- Reporting and analytics enhance strategic planning and equity-focused decision-making.
