Roll will be called in afternoon, after lunch, for the business meeting and quorum will need to be verified since voting will occur during the afternoon session. Dr. Eva Lewis will chair the afternoon business meeting.

    ASU Membership Updates:
    -- Dr. Kathleen Amende, Dean of College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences will become new PRIMARY member
    -- Dr. Caterina Bristol, Assistant Provost and Dean of Graduate School will become the new ALTERNATE member

    This year we had a few members retire and thus their time on the AGSC also ended. Retiring this year were Lisa Williams (JSU) and Tim Edwards (UWA). Leaving the committee was Dr. Phillip Way (Athens). These are all regional representatives and their spots are to be filled by the Council of Presidents (according to legislation). Our office has made a formal request to the Council of Presidents to replace these regional members. As of today, they have not acted on this request. For the interim, Dr. Catherine Wehlburg will continue to serve in place of Dr. Way for Athens and Dr. Tina Jones will serve in place of Dr. Edwards for UWA. JSU has not sent anyone to meetings to serve for Dr. Williams. Let the minutes reflect our sincere appreciation to Dr. Way, Dr. Williams, and Dr. Edwards for their service to the AGSC and transfer students across our state. We also want to take time to recognize Mrs. Brandi Stacey (UA). Brandi has worked with our office over the last 4 years - helping us launch the new ALABAMA TRANSFERS website and graciously serving as the ACHIEVE Planning Committee for the last 2 years. Brandi recently accepted a new job as head "in-state recruitment coordinator" for the University of Alabama. We will miss Brandi and we want to thank her for her dedication and commitment to helping students across the state. In Brandi's absence, Dr. Wehlburg (Athens) has agreed to chair the ACHIEVE Planning Committee and Dr. Coleman (USA) has agreed to serve as vice-chair. Next year's ACHIEVE Conference will be held on the campus of the University of South Alabama.
